Such an exciting Friday

Today my grandparents went into Zurich for a long lunch with some friends, so I had the house to myself for the better part of the day. Which meant that I got to sing Taylor Swift songs really horribly as I walked through the house. That's definitely what normal people do when they're home alone. Yep. But I also got the chance to play piano for an hour! Yay:)

Then my grandparents came home and I helped my grandma make dinner, and Skyped with my family. Hi Gage.

Strange-smelling adventure?

Today I got up and did some studying, then ate lunch and went with my grandma to visit my great-grandmothers grave. I never knew her, but today was All Souls Day, so a lot of people were at the cemetery putting flowers and such on the graves.

I am currently a Catholic, but I think it's dumb to believe or trust in something when you don't know what other options or viewpoints or arguments there are, so I'm very interested in learning about other religions. Well it just so happens that this week the inter-religion group (or something like that) is doing a "religion week", where every day a different religion opens their church or temple or mosque doors and anyone can come and be informed about that religion. I think that is the coolest thing ever. So today the Hindu temple that's only a 10 minute walk away from my grandmas house was doing a presentation, so we went. It was super cool. Completely different from anything I've ever seen. The only bad thing was whatever they were burning gave me a massive headache. But other than that it was fascinating. (And I did ask if it was ok to take pictures, don't worry)
Afterwards I went over to my Aunts house for her to give me a mini French lesson. Then I came home, ate dinner, and Skyped with my family. I miss you guys!

The day of the freaking big spider

On Wednesdays we only have a half day of school, so I got home at 1, which left me the whole afternoon to do nothing, which was awesome.

The weather today was gorgeous, and the sky was so pretty, I just had to take a picture...
I checked to see if the baby bottle from yesterday night was still sitting on the sidewalk, but it wasn't. I found a pretty little flower instead.

At around 9 pm i walked into the room where the computer and the tv is. I didn't feel like turning on the light cause I just had to unplug something real quick. I turned around and started walking back out when I stepped on something, and it moved. I skipped off of it and turned on the light and there was a VERY LARGE spider just chilling right in the middle of the floor. I shuddered and then vacuumed it up. Ew.

Also, yesterday was my favorite little brother's birthday!!! Happy 12th Birthday, you little booger!

The Day of Misjudgment

So today we decided to go on a bike ride with some family friends... A 2 hour drive away, of course.

Right when we get there, my dad decides to try out the bear spray. He figures since there's barely any wind, it'll be easy not to get any bear spray on ourselves. Well, actually when there's barely any wind, the bear spray just hangs out in the same general area. So everyone gets a face full of bear spray. That stuff is not exactly fun to get in your eyes, and the effects don't go away for a long time.

We bike up, take a walk down a mini trail, and then are biking down when Gage and I speed up. Then a sharp turn comes up, and I barely make it around without crashing. I see Gage just behind me going way too fast, and he crashes right into the side of the hill past the turn. He has bruises and a few scrapes, but he was lucky enough not to be too injured.

I just looked up how to treat bear spray if it gets on your skin, because my arms and legs burn a little bit still. Apparently showers only serve to irritate it more. So whoop-de-whoop for this girl, who just took a shower. Agh.
