Pictures & sunburn!

Today we had a super early out at 10:30, so two friends and I went to the lake to take pictures! We ended up going home way earlier than we expected because it was too hot to concentrate. But we got some really pretty pictures!

(There are a bunch more that came out really well which makes me super happy!)

Spain Day 1!

Today we almost missed our train to the airport.. It was a tad stressful. But woot we ended up making it, and then flew two hours to Spain:) I love airplanes & flying. So that was fun. 

We got off the plane and got on a bus to go wander around the city of Málaga, which is right next to the beach. It was nice & warm & reminded me of Florida somehow. Then we got back on the bus & drove two hours to Granada to our hotel. It is so gorgeous here, I'm so excited for the best week! 

Easter Monday

Today we didn't have school again! Yay!

I spent the day playing piano, doing homework, skyping with two friends, taking pictures,

and helping my grandma with the computer. She proclaimed multiple times that checking her email was quite complicated and she has written down all the steps so that she doesn't get confused... First opening Firefox, then typing the web address of her email provider, then typing her password, then going to the inbox of her email. It's pretty adorable. 

Last day of skiing

Today was our last day of skiing, tomorrow we have to drive home... But it was really fun here and it went by so fast. The only thing that bothered me was how much ice there was, because I'm not comfortable skiing on ice and then I look ridiculous with my skis far apart trying not to fall down... But oh well.:) Something funny is that at the beginning of the week the boys were always waiting for Lara and I because we were slower than them, but by today we were the ones waiting for them...

It's seriously Monday again

I'm about 97% sure that yesterday was Wednesday. According to my phone it is not. *blank face*

School was nice today, and I bought new makeup *cheers*

Also, the sunset was gorgeous. :)

Christmas lights

Can Christmas break start tomorrow? Pleaseeee?

Today was an average day, so exciting. I spent about 5 minutes lost in thought whilst brushing my teeth this evening after skyping Kayli, so my teeth are especially clean. *sigh* I need my friends. Come make me sane again. 

Oh! I took photos this morning of some of the Christmas lights in Adliswil, and they're really pretty. I was kind of on the way to the train so I didn't have time to stop and find a good angle for a picture and such, but you get the general idea. (The trees are attached to a bridge by the way, and you can see one of the many stars that are hung around the main square area)

Strange-smelling adventure?

Today I got up and did some studying, then ate lunch and went with my grandma to visit my great-grandmothers grave. I never knew her, but today was All Souls Day, so a lot of people were at the cemetery putting flowers and such on the graves. 

I am currently a Catholic, but I think it's dumb to believe or trust in something when you don't know what other options or viewpoints or arguments there are, so I'm very interested in learning about other religions. Well it just so happens that this week the inter-religion group (or something like that) is doing a "religion week", where every day a different religion opens their church or temple or mosque doors and anyone can come and be informed about that religion. I think that is the coolest thing ever. So today the Hindu temple that's only a 10 minute walk away from my grandmas house was doing a presentation, so we went. It was super cool. Completely different from anything I've ever seen. The only bad thing was whatever they were burning gave me a massive headache. But other than that it was fascinating. (And I did ask if it was ok to take pictures, don't worry)

Afterwards I went over to my Aunts house for her to give me a mini French lesson. Then I came home, ate dinner, and Skyped with my family. I miss you guys!

Happy November!

Yippee! Only 10 days until my birthday :)

Today I slept in a bit, did laundry, finished an English presentation, organized over 1,000 pictures from my phone to my laptop, and did a little bit of history homework. Then I went and hung out with Lara and took pictures at sunset, which turned out really cool. 

Before dinner Lara and I "carved" Rüben (turnips!). Apparently it is a tradition here to carve not pumpkins, but turnips. (Also, it's not to celebrate Halloween, but all saints day, I think. Don't quote me on that. I'm tired, ok?) However, they're not carved like we carve pumpkins. You hollow out the turnip, then carefully peel off the skin in the places where you want the light to shine through a bit more. It's really neat.

Friday! Week 10!

Happy Halloween!

Sadly, most people don't celebrate Halloween here in Switzerland. I think that is massively depressing.

I decided to have a little fun and do my eye makeup in zebra-print and wear a zebra-print shirt, just because.

When I came home there was a gorgeous sunset, so of course I took a picture of that...

Doing stuff

Today I got up early/ier and wrote a German essay, memorized Spanish vocab, and read a chunk of a german book. Then I ate lunch and went on a "walk" with Lara. Quotation marks because we didn't do much walking, we took pictures. I have a new obsession with taking pictures. I want to steal mom's fancy camera when I get home. :)

I came home and helped my grandma transfer and organize pictures from her camera... Then I ate dinner and Skyped with Rose and Kiley. Not really excited to get up at 6 am tomorrow. At all. 

Monday half day

Today we had a half day of school encase if the Knabenschiessen. It made my Monday so much better. 

I also forgot to mention yesterday that I was ordered by my mother to buy "rahm-tafeli" (cream-pieces) which are heaven in edible form that only exist at the Knabenschiessen.  They're caramel type things in little pieces like chocolate. Yummmmmm. 

And walking home from Dominic and Lara's house was an adorable little hedgehog! The picture isn't very good (it was dark) but it was the cutest little thing ever!

Also, tomorrow and the next day is a school field trip, and I don't know if I'll be able to post anything, but we shall see. And if not I'll just take lots of pictures and post them when I get home:)

Rain and selfies

School today was fun because we had a teacher who is gone on a trip with another class so we had a random period to just hang out... Except it was raining so no one really felt like leaving school.

It was my friend Marlene's birthday today, and she brought cupcakes!!! Yay!

Hipster baby bottle

I got to sleep in today! Yay! I got up super late, then did some homework and cleaning my room and such, then since it was sunny Lara and I walked to the lake of Zurich and went swimming.

There was almost no one on the beach because it was a bit chilly. It was gorgeous, though. 

There was a playground, and Lara and I decided to mess around on it...

(I don't know why it's so blurry... It's clearer on my phone..?)

There was also a pretty wall with a mosaic on it that we thought was artsy enough to take a picture with. 

The baby bottle is still there on top of the parking meter, but it looked kind of plain so I decorated it. Now it's a hipster baby bottle.

Summertime nothingness!

So last week and this week I basically did nothing, which included decorating my room,

Going to the Alpamare (an epic water park) with my cousin,

(And being amazed that they have Hershey's chocolate right next to the amazing Toblerone chocolate)

going shopping:

The first of August is basically Switzerland's birthday, and this year Switz was 723 years old! We celebrated by eating some bread I don't remember the name of (oops):

Going into Zurich, walking around listening to traditional music, and eating "chäse spatzli" (literally translated-cheese + a type of bird native to Europe) which are little mini dumplings with cheese and onions and parsley. It was pretty delicious:

That evening, we went to Dominic and Lara's house and ate yummy food, watched-and lit off-fireworks, and pretty much just used the day as an excuse to stay up until 2 am doing silly things. 

I got a little bored late one night and did some magic:

I am currently at my cousins house, where I stayed for three days because my aunt and uncle are on a mini vacation and decided to temporarily abandon their children.

During the three days I was here we made mini pizzas-twice:

Made a tiny fire and roasted marshmallows at 2 am (from which I now have mosquito bites on my eyelid and in the middle of my forehead):

Made a chocolate fondue at 3 in the morning with a friend (with silly consequences if you dropped your food in the chocolate)

And generally played a lot of super exciting video games:

It's 5 am now on the last day/night I'll be here... I think it's about time to go to sleep. Goodnight!
