Friday! Week 13!

Today was an awesome day:)

I wore a pair of jeans I ripped with neon tights underneath and I got a bunch of compliments, which made me happy.

So... We thought that our music teacher was sick so we left... Turns out he was just late. Oops.

Next week I'm participating in a singing workshop! Yay! We practice every day for one week and then do a mini concert on Friday and Saturday. It's going to be super fun:)

Also, what is up with Apple & my internet?! This is not normal...? Yeah, no. The update can wait.

Long lunch!

Today I had three hours for lunch because history and study hall got canceled. Yippee! So I went into Zürich with a bunch of other girls in my class to this adorable little underground Italian take-away place. It was so so so good:)
Then when I got home (why is it already dark at 5pm?!) I was greeted by an adorable little package sitting on my desk with the return address of  a certain Kayli. She sent me a late birthday present!! Yay! I got even more skittles:) It made my week. Thank you Kayliiiiii.

Then tonight at about 7pm I decide it would be a good idea to update my phone, because iOS 8.1.1 is available and my phone keeps sending me notifications. I figure it can't take more than a few hours, right? Well apparently I was not right. Right now it says 5 hours remaining. So... I guess I'll go to bed and cross my fingers that when I get up it'll be done? *crosses fingers*  oh wait, now it says 4 hours... I'm so confused. Is this a good sign?

Random Happy Tuesday

Today we had school and it was a girl named Shanelle's birthday, so everyone had a little gift for her, and when she came into the room we all started singing and we ate cake. It was really fun.
Also, right when school got out I suddenly was randomly super duper happy. It was awesome. It also inspired me to buy gummybears, which made me even more happy. Yay!

Day 4!

Thursdays consist of a bunch of double periods of classes which makes the day a strange length. Today I had double English (I practiced German), geography, history, biology, double French, and double p.e.

During p.e. I noticed something. We were practicing volleyball, and a lot of the girls didn't know how to play at all. A lot of the students were uncoordinated and not very athletic. At home, if you're not good at a sport, no one likes you in p.e. because everyone has to wait for you. There is so much emphasis put on sports at home, and here it's just not a big deal. I find it refreshing to not have to freak out when you mess up and send the volleyball flying across the gym.

I feel like Switzerland is a happier place than the U.S. and I wonder how one could measure that scientifically to find out. Huh. But what I've noticed is if you pass someone walking, you say hello or good morning etc, whereas back home that's just awkward and weird. Here it's a courteous thing to do, and quite frankly, it makes everyone happier. Strangers aren't as much of a reason to freak out and be awkward so much as a reason to be polite and make room to sit down or something like that.

I feel like here people also value the effort and/or money the city or someone put into something more and they expend more effort to make sure they don't mess it up. There is graffiti and all that just like anywhere else, but even the graffitiers don't go after the pretty sculptures and so on in public places. Just abandoned buildings and the like.
Also, the trains, trams, and buses are unbelievably clean. You are allowed to eat and drink on all of them, and yet they are always tidy. Yay for random things I noticed today...
