Choir day:)

Today I got to miss most of school for choir practice, which was really fun. Then I came home, spent a while helping my grandma sort through photos on her laptop, did homework and now it is almost midnight & I must sleep. Oops. Good night!

Brains

Today was fun because this semester we have these half classes, where half of the class goes to one class and the other half to another. It's supposed to allow the teacher to interact with us more and such. But only for three periods on Tueaday... Idk why either.

Today we also got a little lecture from our "Klassenlehrer" (class teacher-meaning we are class 3D with him as our main organizer of activities and trips and such) about motivation and why we are in the Gymi (higher level school) instead of the Sek (lower level school). He talked about training your brain and stuff like that, which I found really neat. Did you know your brain perceives over 10,000,000 stimuli/bits of information per second? And we only physically notice 16. And after an hour we only remember 1-2. And after a few days we only remember 0.5. And years later, if we experience something that somehow is similar to that 0.5 bit of information, we might make a connection to it and our brains will have a little imaginary string connecting those bits of info. But if you never received or studied that information, your brain never has the chance to make that connection. So even if you don't remember much of what you studied in 10 years, if you somehow make a connection, your brain has the opportunity to grow and make new imaginary strings connecting stuff. If you never trained your brain by trying to remember stuff, you won't ever make that connection and you will be scientifically not as smart. Weird stuff. Brains. But fascinating.

Tomorrow after school I'm doing a mini Photoshoot with one of my friends:) I'm excited to see if we get any good pictures!

Choir Solo :)

Today I got to get up much later again. It was honestly really nice, and I feel like everyone was more awake and participated in class a lot more. There was also a lot fewer people who were late the past two days. Apparently it's scientifically backed that teenagers have a sort of inner clock that's set a few hours later than adults, which means we naturally stay up later and get up later. Weird stuff.

And today after school I had a few hours to kill so I went into Zurich and to the English bookstore and just sat and read random books for a good two hours. It was really nice... Is it weird that I missed the feeling of being surrounded by books? I don't know.

Afterwards I went back to the school and tried out for a choir solo. The teachers quickly decided, and since there will be four shows (each with two solos in them) I get to do the solo I auditioned for in two shows, and another girl will be doing it in the other two shows. Which I think is an awesome way of letting more people have a solo. So that's pretty exciting, especially because the song is in French, and I basically just went with how I felt it should be pronounced... Yay!!

And hello from the cute black cat that ran away when I tried to take a picture of it this morning. :)

Pentatonix

Today was a usual Tuesday. :) It was nice.

I was on Facebook this evening and I noticed that the music group Pentatonix is on tour, and they are coming to Europe! I looked at the tour dates, and they're coming to Zurich on April 15th! I want to see if I can get tickets... Because that would be so cool. If you don't know who Pentatonix are, I suggest you Google them and watch some of their youtube videos. They're pretty amazing.

Weather

Today was a pretty average day:)

I had to run for the train and I slipped in by like 2 inches. Yippee!

Today I was noticing how everyone was complaining about the cold. I didn't think it was that bad... So I liked at the weather here and the weather in Kalispell and laughed. This is right now, 10:30pm for me and 2:30pm in Kalispell. (Fahrenheit)

The Piano Problem

So I really thought it was Wednesday all day today. I have no clue why... Oh well...

Today I went to school like usual, then came home and made dinner and did homework and played piano for an hour. But I realized that I have no new piano music and it's hard to find free stuff on the internet that's the right skill level and fun to play... So if anyone wants to gift me piano books or music or that sort of stuff for my birthday (13 days!!!) I would love it...:) Music in general is just pretty awesome. Especially Owl City and Taylor Swift.
Also, it's almost my dad's birthday! I made him a card today and hopefully it won't arrive too late. <3

Random Happy Tuesday

Today we had school and it was a girl named Shanelle's birthday, so everyone had a little gift for her, and when she came into the room we all started singing and we ate cake. It was really fun.
Also, right when school got out I suddenly was randomly super duper happy. It was awesome. It also inspired me to buy gummybears, which made me even more happy. Yay!

Abandoned baby bottle

I got to get up late(r) today and I only had a few classes! Yay! I also got to leave school an hour early because I didn't see the point in staying for English class. Thankfully, neither did my teacher and she let me leave.

I found a wonderfully relevant comic that perfectly describes my most common everyday #firstworldproblem :
My grandparents went to a dinner where they discussed the cruise they are going to take, so I got to go to Dominic and Lara's house for dinner, which was fun. On the way home, almost literally right outside the apartment buildings, was a random baby bottle, just sitting on the side of the sidewalk. I don't know why, but I thought it was hilarious.
It looks so lonely...
I wonder if it'll still be there tomorrow?

What Time Is It?

Summertime! Yay! Our last day of school was yesterday, I'm so happy! Woohoo summer!

And just now, I looked out the window and there was this absolutely gorgeous double rainbow, half in the sun, half not, right as the sun was going down. So pretty! And what's funny is one rainbow goes left to right, purple to red, and the other one goes red to purple. Apparently this happens because the light coming from the sun is reflected twice inside the raindrops. The light emerges from the raindrop at a different angle than it does the first time. In the first rainbow the blue light emerges from the drops at a smaller angle than the red light, but in the second, the blue light emerges at a larger angle than the red light. Therefore it seems "flipped" to us. Whoa. Science. Cool stuff.

Congratulations. You learned something today:)

The School System Is A Joke

So, today I went back to school after a 3-day weekend... *woop woop*
1st period: French. I love the language and the teacher, but one of the kids asked what the word "deafen" meant. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Deafen
2nd period: Choir! Nothing to say. I love to sing.
3rd period: 21st Century Literacies. We had a lady come in to tell us about how difficult sophomore year is going to be. They tell us that every year, that "the next year of school is going to be soooo tough!"
4th period: English. We wrote an essay. It was fun.:)
5th period: Math. I played on my friend's phone the. Entire. Time. I just did the math homework that he assigned in about 15 minutes. Easy.
6th period: Biology. This class is fun. We have a good teacher. And we learned stuff. Woot.
7th period: P.E. Easy, but fun.

#sorrynotsorry
Rant time is over now.
Bye!
