Week of moving stuff

So this week:
Mom and Gage left-and arrived!-for home, I went shopping with my cousin,
Skyped with Katie,
Went to the "badi" (swimming pool) with Lara (three times!),
And moved into my new room! There was a lot of furniture and stuff and stuff and stuff to move. Today I started decorating... It's gonna be a while before the walls are more exciting:
Yesterday evening I went to a farm with my grandparents to meet with some of their friends. It was fun, but the best part for me was finding out that we were allowed to eat a bunch of cherries! I looove cherries.
And... I did a bunch of math. (Happy, mom? :p)

Weekend

This weekend was the first weekend of summer for my cousins:)

On Friday my friend and I went thrift shopping. We got a little bored... So we imitated the birds above us.
Then that evening I made a Wahe with my grandma, it turned out very yummy.
I tried to take a selfie with her, and this is what happened:
On Sunday we went to Schaffhausen, a town about an hour's drive away from Adliswil. There was an old monastery there, and about 40 volunteers were living there like people used to 400 years ago. It was amazing.
There was also a museum, and Gage really liked the parts where he was able to try on actual armor. Like chainmail:
 And a helmet:
The best part of the day was watching people actually jousting. There were about 8 people from various places around the world who came specifically for the jousting. Jousting is their (very expensive) hobby, and they used correctly made armor, lances, and swords, exactly like a long time ago, when tournaments such as this one were held in exactly the same spot.

Language class still

This week we had classes again every morning, and in the afternoons we went shopping
To the playground
Did some people watching
Visited a chocolate store
Went to the Rhine Falls and the Bodensee
Visited a castle
Among other things
But sadly, Friday was goodbye...

Language class day 6

Yesterday we went back to the school and had classes in the morning, then went to a cheese dairy in the afternoon. It was a super cute little dairy, and we got to look in through the glass doors and watch the cheese makers wrestle the giant wheels of cheese.
The cheese that is made there is excusively Emmentaler cheese, which has to age for a while. This is one of many rooms that look exactly the same.
There was a gift shop, and I thought it was super cool that they had both my name and my mom's spelled correctly on these adorable mugs.
On the way to the Kaserei (cheese making place) we discovered a train car that had a little playground for children. We definitely classify as children, so we went on the slide. We both almost got stuck... This is my friend Laura from Spain...

Weekend

This Saturday Oma & Opa and mom & Gage & I went on a boat tour of three lakes with one of Opa's old friends. It was fun, but I had to get up early, which ws not fun.
I was also bored before dinner so I collected some flowers and put them in a vase-
Then on Sunday I slept in (yay!) and then went on a walk/swim with Lara and her friend and her dog. It was lots of fun:)
Then we had Dominic over for dinner, which was fondue. Yum!
I also got to skype 3 of my good friends, which was wonderful. <3 you guys!

Language class day 5

Today we had class in the morning and a short cooking class in the afternoon. In the language part of the class we had to write two short paragraphs about ourselves and about our hometown. The tricky part was doing it in German... I think my teacher liked mine though, so that's good.
In the cooking class we made a traditional Swiss dish that I don't remember the name of... It was made with potatoes, noodles, ham, carmelized onions, and apples with carmelized sugar. It sounded horrible, but it was surprisingly good.
After class, my three friends and I decided to go to a design museum right next to where the school is. It was called the Museum für Gestaltung. It had a video about the particle accelerator in Germany (i think) and my friends and I got all excited because that's close enough to possibly visit, which would be super cool.

Then after dinner, I went over to my cousin's house, and I met three cats along the way. It was adorable.

Language class day 4

Today we had German lessons in the morning, then we went to a "sielpark" (literally, ropepark) in the afternoon. It was at a place called Atzmanneg.
We climbed around in wooden platforms attached to trees and did a bunch of ziplining. It as super awesome, but I couldn't get any pictures because I didn't want my phone to fall out of my pocket from way up in the trees. However, on the bus ride to the park there were some gorgeous views:
Then, after we came back, there was a barbecue at the housing complex where my grandparents live.

Language class day 3

Today I got up early again and went to Zurich for my language class. We sat in class for 4 long hours, then we were freed.
One of my friends wanted Mcdonalds, but we couldn't figure out how on earth to get there. We tried for about 10 minutes to plan out a route using the trams, then we gave up and just decided to hop on a tram and go wherever it would take us. We ended up passing a Mcdonalds anyways, so that worked out perfectly. We also stopped at Starbucks because why not.
Then we were bored, so we wandered over to what is called the "Landesmuseum", which is a museum about Swiss history.
There was a bobsled that you were allowed to climb into, so my friend and I decided to...
There was some pretty cool stuff there:
So that was my day! :)

Language class day 2

So yesterday we went to the market a few tram stops away and had to ask the vendors how much certain things cost... My group had the most accurate answers, so we got chocolate!!
It was delicious:)

Then we went back to the school and had a lesson, had a lunch break where I had Wehe (I think that's how it's spelled.. I don't know), which is a pie-like thing, it comes in all different flavors with fruits or berries on it, or just with Rahm, which is cream in German. That's what I had:) Also, it is socially acceptable to have it for lunch or dinner, which is a bit unusual for foods.

At the train station there were a bunch of people in orange sunhats giving away mini cans of Fanta (soda). It was really cool, because at home in such a small city we don't ever get people advertising in such ways.
We then went on the train to the Uetliberg (a mountain). There we walked up a very short incline and arrived at a tall viewing platform-type thing, which we promptly climbed up.

There were 178 steps, I counted... There was a fabulous view from up there, and we all took pictures and oohed and aahed.
It was gorgeous.

We finished the day by wandering around old Zurich, then going to a public swimming place on the lake of Zurich. It was super fun!
But the very best part of my day was skyping with one of my best friends. I love and miss you, Kk!!!
